EXCLUSIVE | Andrew and Tristan Tate asked for PlayStation and hairstylist in custody. How the police reacted
Brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate requested the management of the Detention and Preventive Arrest Center of the Capital Police (CRAP) to bring a game console to their room. At the same time, the British millionaires also asked for a hairstylist, after they reportedly said they could not use the personal hygiene items allowed in custody.
Andrew and Tristan Tate are in Detention Center from December 29, 2022, after DIICOT prosecutors descended on their villa in Pipera and on the video chat studio opened nearby. Police sources revealed, for Gândul, that shortly after their incarceration, the British millionaire had managed to make their life easier. In this sense, in the evening, upon changing shifts, they received shaorma or steak cooked at fancy restaurants in the north of the capital.
Moreover, as the authorities seemed to be sympathetic of them, they allegedly asked for a PlayStation games console to be purchased so that they could play games on the TV, especially as they are in the same cell.
On 2 February, before entering the DIICOT headquarters, where he and his brother were due to take part in the computer search, Tristan Tate gave journalists two handwritten notes.
“The DIICOT evidence against us is that our friends Beatrice and Iasmina made videos on TikTok, in 2021. This is why I am in prison. Ask DIICOT for evidence. Ask the judges who is influencing them. Tell the world what’s going on”, wrote Tristan in one of the two notes.
After this incident, the detention regime of the two Brits changed radically, and they began to receive a specific treatment meant for the detainees considered to be dangerous. As a result, they have not been able to get their steaks prepared in fancy restaurants or other advantages.
Moreover, the PlayStation application has not yet been approved either. The sources quoted said that when Andrew Tate asked where his console was, he was told that in custody “inmates don’t play, they pray”.
The Tate brothers buy fruit and sweets
However, the Tate brothers did not give up and would come back with a new claim. This time they complained that they could not use the disposable razors allowed in detention and asked to be allowed to bring in a hairstylist from outside the detention unit. This request was also rejected.
They benefit, however, from the purchases made, according to the law, by the representatives of the Central Detention Center, who go grocery shopping for the inmates who have money in the accounts opened, in their name, at the Detention and Preventive Detention Center. According to the quoted sources, the Tate brothers generally buy fruit and sweets, but also personal hygiene items such as toilet paper and soap.
Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested on the 29th of December 2022 and remanded in custody a day later, upon the request of the DIICOT prosecutors, who accuse them of “having set up an organized criminal group in the course of 2021 with a view to committing the crime of trafficking in human beings on the territory of Romania and also of other countries, such as the United States of America and the United Kingdom”.
“The victims were then transported and housed in buildings in Ilfov county where, through acts of physical violence and psychological coertion (through intimidation, constant surveillance, control and the allegation of debts), they were sexually exploited by members of the group by being forced to engage in pornographic acts with a view to producing and disseminating such material via social media platforms and by being forced to perform forced labor in order to obtain significant financial benefits consisting in sums of money obtained as a result of users accessing the material”, according to the DIICOT.
